The Shelly 1 Mini Gen3 is an ultra-compact Wi-Fi smart switch designed for installations where space is limited. Its potential-free, or dry-contact, relay allows compatible lights, appliances and low-voltage circuits to be controlled remotely without replacing the existing wall switch or making significant visible changes to the installation.

Measuring just 29 × 34 × 16 mm, the Shelly 1 Mini Gen3 can be installed inside standard electrical wall boxes, behind compatible light switches and power sockets, or within suitable appliance enclosures. It connects directly to a standard 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, so no separate smart-home hub is required.

Users can control the connected circuit through the Shelly Smart Control app, the device's embedded web interface or a compatible home automation platform. It supports local and cloud-based control, schedules, scenes, scripting, webhooks and MQTT, providing flexibility for both straightforward smart switching and more advanced automation.

Use Cases

The Shelly 1 Mini Gen3 is suitable for adding smart control to compatible lighting circuits, fans, small appliances, garage doors, irrigation systems and other electrical equipment within its rated limits. The dry-contact relay can switch circuits operating at a different voltage from the device's own power supply. It may also be used as a control input for an appropriately rated contactor when working with equipment that exceeds the relay's direct switching capacity.
